79' 5.7 - 85' T5 tranny issues

I've just finished putting a 79' 350 engine into a 85 Z28 with a 5 speed(T5).The swap was going well until i started to bolt on the starter from my 305.The bolt pattern on the starter was not matching up with the 350 diagonal bolt pattern.I then tried a number of diffrent types of starters, but no matches. Please help if you have a solution to this. Thank you in advance

Incase you didn't find the link in the other thread where you asked about this I'll post it again.

As you can see, we tried every concievable way around it. Although I am suprised that your 79 block doesn't have the extra hole, my 76 block does.

My 1977 block has both bolt patterns. Maybe it's just truck blocks that have both patterns. Who knows. Your gonna have to drill that extra hole. Drill it with a 5/16 and tap it with a 3/8.
