I have an 83 TA with a carbed 305 but the haynes does not show my axle code is it jumps from 4xx to 6xx and my axle code stamped on the housing is 5JH.

is there anyone that can tell me if it is posi and what gear ratio it is?

I have searched the forms but can't find that number any where

About time to change the rear fluid and you then can check the gear ratio stamped od the dr gear OD and if it has a limited slip. A little work but better then letting someone guess for you.
