Transfixleo or Pro-built What can be done to make the 700R4 stay in manul low to 5000+?
Seems like every time I put it in maual low it shifts out at 3500. Gov. ?

The Transgo shift kit is supposed to fix it. The stock valve body has some kind of interlock that will let the trans upshift so you don't blow the engine.

It's an '87 El Camino w/"383" don't have WOT points yet. It has the Superior shift correction kit.
I agree with transfixleo on this one. The Reprogramming kit will allow you to hold any gear to any rpm. The Superior valve body kit will not solve the inherent problems that occur in the 700R4 (like yours) just exacerbate them. When installing the Trans-Go Shift kit you will have to shrink the 2nd gear feed hole, the Superior kit makes the 2nd gear feed to large (1-2 bang shift at light throttle, this is hard on everything in the gear train). Trans-Go relies on changing the accumulation for making the 2nd gear shift firm at WOT, while keeping it quick at light throttle. If you need this kit or anything else?, let me know.
