i have a 84 700r. i just got this recently put in due to my last trans blowin up. the problem is this : i have first gear but no 2nd gear. i have 3rd but then once again i dont have o\d. i had the same prob in my old trans. any body know what i can do to fix this? thanx for al yur help

 

Well for whatever reason your Band is not working. Did this happen after a while or are you saying that as soon as it was put in it was like this? If that is the case they may have missed the Band anchor or apply pin.

 

well it happened with my old trans and now its doin it in the new trans

 

OK I see your handle, I assume that means you have modded the engine and use the car 'hard', right? What have you done to the tranny to help it?

 

the plug that goes in the trans with the 4 piece prongs. what is that for? today i had some major trouble goin home. my wire that ran from the amp to the battery got broke of from the acid some how and i lost so much power. could this cause my trans to slip if i have no voltage? this was at 8 pm . luckily i was close by and got the car home. but when i had it in first gear it was like nuetral at 30 mph. but if i floor it the car will go only first gear though. i duno this shyt makes me mad. all this work for nothin. i apriciate yur help.

i think this all started when i added headers. 650 double pump and an rpm on a 305,now i put a 355 in with same stuff but better heads and cam. i doubt doin somethin to the trans would help though
