700r4 valve body questions - check ball!

I have my valve body off this weekend, working on a trans go shift kit, and i have a question.

1.I have a 700r4 tech manual that mentions a "copper flash" check ball that sits in a hole right by the end of the TV valve. There is no mention of this check ball in the transgo kit. Do I need to use it?

the location is yellow is the attached pic:

Dang that valve body pic looks familar to me.

I like to leave the default check ball in. It avoids some troubles on occasion.
