I'd recommend using only genuine GM brand
posi rear end lube. U can also buy posi additive at GM....

I just rebuilt mine and the gear manufacturer (Richmond) recommended their synthetic gear oil, or Redline's gear oil of about the same viscocity.Neither of these require a posi additive, as it's already in the oil. Also, they said break in for 500 miles and replace it.
I'm using the Redline 80W140 Gear oil.Expensive, but how much is peace of mind worth?

AMSOIL 75W90 Series 2000 is also synthetic and does not need any expensive little tube of posi additive. Although the AMSOIL will cost you more per quart than off-the-shelf stuff, by the time you add in the little tube, it isn't much more. And, the benefits of synthetic will save a bunch more over time, recouping the initial outlay.
