transfixleo: how do I fix my lock up?

In an earlier issue you posted that I should try and push on the brakes til the light comes on and see if my tranny shifts right. When I did this the thing started working like it should. I was wondering how I fix the lock up problem?

There are a number of things that could cause L/U to cycle. One if these is actually NOT L/U but feels like it. That is when you have a slight engine miss, under load in L/U. It of course goes away when you unlock the converter and then the TCC gets blamed. Make sure this is not your problem. AS to actual L/U problems causing cycling, first make sure that your coolant is full as if the sensor has eratic reading you L/U will get fauly control from the ECM- garbage in/garbage out. Next would be to make sure that all connections are good- both power and ground. you could also have an eratic TPS signal- they tend to wear out right where they spend most of the time.
