rear ends

I want to put a 10 bolt disc brake rear end in my 86z(has 4.10),but want to keep rear drums(I do have all of the parts for disk). Do drum backing plates match up to disc rear end? I am not sure if axles are same length.

no. disk and drum backing plates are different. They don't even use the same bolt pattern attaching to the housing. Axles will be the same.
