help need my car back :'{

ive spent a lot of time money and effort in nothing and im gitting really fustrated 3-4 clutches on my stock 83 trans am went out a little while ago and i went to a yard and checked some transmissions and found one out of an 87 trans am droped it and put it in my car taday after everything was complete and put back together i drove it well it feels like its slipping in every gear not to mention its shuddering what could be causing this i read somewhere that if the trans doesnt get a constant 12 volt it wolnt work right could this be so cuz my battery is poop im really looking for some help and just want to drive my baby again thanks if i cant get it to work im just gonna sale it ive put to much time money sweet and tears into it

Axle/Gears: BW 3.27 (stock)
a junkyard transmission is a huge risk, because even if it was in perfect running condition when it was taken to the junkyard, they drain their trannys. When a used transmission sits long enough drained, all the clutches and the band dry out, and the transmission is rendered useless.

So there's your worst case. If you're lucky, it doesn't have the right amount of fluid in it, (was the torque converter installed full?), or the tv cable isn't adjusted properly.

torque converter was installed semi full is that bad
