so i bought a 87 camaro that was a tbi and they switched it to carb and it is a mess. wiring left everywhere and i dont know wat to keep and not keep. but for now i want to focus on my trans, is there a adaptor for the tv cable for a tbi to a holley carb?? cause i have no passing gear at all it dose not want to down shift past 35 . and i was told i need an adaptor braket.. dose anyone know where i can get one? it has a 700r4 and i want to get corvette solenoids for the 2-3 shift and i am getting a 1-2 shift kit for it. but that is all pointless unless i figure out this first issue. thanks

 

DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR WITHOUT CORRECTING THE TV CABLE! Some of us have totally burnt up a perfectly good tranny after just a few blocks of driving with an incorrect TV cable - this needs fixed before you can drive at all - if it's not already too late. Summit Racing sells the brackets and TV geometry correctors you need for this carb setup - just search through air/fuel delivery and pick the options that best suit your setup to narrow the results and find the parts. Should be around $100 with brackets and correctors and shipping.

all i can tell you that it is a 87 tbi that was swapped to carb has a holley carb 650 i was told and a 700r4 trans. i can take a pic in the morning and post it see if that helps you help me. i can do everything i just need to know exactly wat to get so i dont mess up.

 

That item in the link above you don't need - it's basically just the cables - the TBI cable is just fine, and so is the TV cable (assuming it's there).

I used this for a bracket, it's nice, doesn't flex like the cheap spectre brand, and is totally adjustable (and, has space to drill into in case it's not adjustable enough). This bracket will hold your throttle cable and the TV cable.

I don't know if you'll need a geometry corrector for the TV cable or not. I'm an Edelbrock man, so I'm unfamiliar with the Holley stuff. Try looking at the sticky at the top of the carb forum, or ask directly - make a thread in the carb section titled "TBI to Holley Carb HELP" and then ask "what linkage/correctors/studs/brackets do I need to swap from tbi to holley carb".
