Pro 5.0, Hurst, or B&M

which shifter is the best? I like the old Ripper, but I heard they changed them(no adjustable stops). What do ya'll recommend. If you recommend the Pro 5.0 where can I get one. Thanks.

I have a B&M on my T56 and eventually took out the shift stops (they are redundant, and mine worked their way in too far and prevented me from engaging 2nd, 4th, and 6th). If I had to do it over again, i would probably try one of the Hurst units that is designed to use the factor lever. The B&M shifts nice, but is very loud and noisy with whining sounds... You get use to it, but sometimes it would be nice to have a "stock" sounding shifter.

the shifter shouldn't make any noise if you have it installed correctly man! I've installed many, only I never get to drive the car more than a few blocks, so I don't really know which one "feels" the best. I liked the Ripper I put in my friends RS(no noise from it.), I liked the Hurst I installed in a Fox body 5.0. Never driven/installed a Pro5.0. Just trying to get some more input. Thanks guys.

I'm quite pleased with the Ripper. The shifts are firm. No adjustable stops. No noise that I'm aware of. The fact that the stock boot and **** fit were a plus for me personally.

PR0 5.0. If you've ever had a problem with the 2nd to 3rd shift, this should cure it. It has a springloaded offset shift mechanism and adjustable shift stops. With my TKO, it is notchy, and that's the best part.

I like my Hurst competition plus on my T5. I think they'll all be good, I just like Hurst's history.

Yeah, it was Forte's. If you want more info, try here:
http://www.pro-50.com/
I bought it on the suggestion of a friend and this ad:
Pro - 5.0's Power Tower Shifter
What the cheaper Copy-Cats DON'T tell you about "their" Shifter...
-Aluminum handle (not as strong as PRO - 5.0 Steel Handle)
-Soft metal gear selector (not as strong as the PRO - 5.0)
-Lightweight aluminum stop housing (not steel and not as strong as the PRO - 5.0)

****Remember the ten dollars you save on that "Quack" look-alike shifter won't go far toward your next transmission rebuild!****

I have the Pro 5.0 with my T56 and I love it. It comes with about 1.5" of thread on the stick, therefore you can cut off about an inch to make the throw shorter. I did that to mine and I love it. It has a rock solid feel to it. I think I got mine from www.tbyrnemotorsports.com but I'm not positive. I can't compare it to other shifters since I've never felt them but from what I gathered when I was asking around, the Pro 5.0 is the best.
