been there done that! GOOD LUCK! youre lookin at about $2000 in parts and labor. Good place to start is a junk yard, take out as many parts as you can from this car. Trans, flywheel, bellhousing, clutch(get new), throw out bearing, fork, uppper and lower boot, slave cylinder, clutch pedal assembly and new brake pedal. Buuy a chiltons manual, all the parts are basically listed in there through blow up diagrams. Labor is whats gonna kill you.

WOO-HOOOO!!!!! 100 posts!! And it only took me...11 months! I gotta come here more often .

About the tranny swap-go with the T56. Its superior to the T5 in every way and is worth the extra grand or so. Regardless of which you choose, you can use your driveshaft for both transmissions as the cases are all the same length (T5, 700R4, T56, 4L60E).

Either swap is pretty straightforward and there are tech articles on this site for both. An average price for a T56 is about $1500 with everything. If you look around, you can find one for a lot less. I've seen them go for as little as $800.
