Bellhousing cracking
Ive been having a problem with my bellhousing cracking on my 700r4 in my 88 iroc.
what would cause it to crack all the way across the housing and about 1/4 of the way down the case. i thought it was a fluke at first but its done it 3 times now, and after the 2nd time i had it welded back and i had 1" wide and 5" long braces welded on for added strength but it broke them as well.
so do i have a suspension problem, to much power, or something else.
anybody with some insight on the issue would be great.
thanks
joseph

Re: Bellhousing cracking
Common causes are improper converter installation, excessive vibration cause by too stiff of trans mounts and improperly bolting on the bellhousing

Re: Bellhousing cracking
Im running regular transmission mounts, the transmission was bolted properly.
could the engine mounts have gone bad? could that be where the vibrations are coming from?
