Speedo pickup removal on T5?

I've removed the 10mm bolt and hold down for the speedo pickup on the tranny. Now the pickup just spins...is it threaded or do I have to pull it out with a gear puller?? Thanks for any responses.

It should just pull out. Might need to use a pair of plires to get a grip on it. Just took mine out a couple of days ago.

It has a rubber "O" ring on it to seal in the fluid. That sometimes makes it hard to pull out. If you do use pliers to pull it out, be careful of the threads that the cable goes to.
