Jegs sells a tool to grab the flywheel. Or get a strong friend...they are loose by now and not soo tight to where a friend couldnt grab it and prevent it from spinning.

Also, if you "shock" the ratchet or wrench, they will break free. Meaning don't "pull" on it....kind of "punch it" or a quick yank....i cant explain it LOL...I sound like a dumbass LMAO

Use a large screwdriver or prybar in one of the large holes in the flexplate, let it turn until the block (or starter) holds the screwdriver or prybar and keeps the engine from turning.

You can also hook the starter teeth on the flexplate to the block, etc.

Neither one will damage the flexplate.

I have one of the flywheel holders/turners, but I rarely use it! Most of the time, I just take a dead-blow hammer to the wrench and they come right out (a standard hammer will work). If you do this sort of work everyday, you should avoid hitting the wrench with your hand, as you will eventually lose the feeling in your hand (or damage something, or whatever!)

Good luck!
