700r4 questions
my tranntransmission just went out on my 88 camaro convertible so i'm trying to find a new one. i found a guy that says he has a 350 out of an 86 monte carlo with 26,000 miles on it. I told him i think the monte carlo's that year had a 700r4. He said he wasn't positive what it was his nephew just told him it was a 350. i also just found out that somewhere on it, it says its a th. I was thinking th700r4 but i remembered they also made a th 350 and 400. So what i was wondering is what are some sure ways of telling what tranny it is just by looking at it. Basically i just want to know if its a 700 because thats what i want.

Re: 700r4 questions
No '86 monte carlo came with the TH350c, they came with the TH200-4R. The 700R-4 has a basically square trans pan, the TH350s have a 5-sided pan, and the 200-4R has a very long pan and the tailshaft housing is not removable.
