700r4 swap Questions...

Found a good deal on a semi built 700r4 with convertor and have a few questions about the swap....Im going from a 88 t-5 and 305....the t-5 just could not take the nitrous anymore....

Will all 700r4's have a spot for torque arm mounting?

What flywheel will I need?...just one I can go to the local speed shop and buy....

Also will a t-5 crossmember work?

Anything else I should need? Not sure on how to run a shifter for the auto... Thanks

Yes (I assumed thirdgen, my bad).

Flexplate.

Yes.

You may have to swap drive and/or driven gears to make the speedo read correctly.

Re: 700r4 swap Questions...

My understanding of the 700R4's is that only those for the f-body's have the torque arm mounts. The Corvette uses a c-beam and the trucks don't use the torque arm.

Although the tail housing can be swapped between them to provide the torque arm mount. Just be aware that the Corvette output shaft is about 1/2" shorter then the f-body output shaft.

Not really sure if this would end up being an issue or not. I've read here that folks have used the 'Vette tranny in an f-body. They moved the speedometer drive gear (uses a different location), and put the f-body tail housing on. Basically the drive shaft front yoke loses about 1/2" of engagement.
