Has anybody tried this... "manumatic" shifting on 700r4
Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody ever attempted to get a "manual mode" in the 700r4. Kinda like with paddle shifters on the steering wheel or a separate manual shift gate on the shifter. I know it's kinda cheezy but being able to control when your car shifts is pretty cool IMO. I'm sure it's easier than a manual transmission swap....

I doubt it'd be easier than a M/T swap because you'd still be swapping the trans with a later electronically controlled version (ala 4L60e/4L80e/6L80e/etc) and then using a standalone controller.

Mines got manual mode, if i want it in 1st i put it in first, i want it in second i put it in second, 3rd and so on.
Just like my other car with a five speed, you put it in the gear, not that retarded + and - crap.
But seriously if you want full control when it shifts, man up and get a real manual...

they've been discontinued for a few years now. every now and then one will pop up on ebay, but they're d@mn expensive. idk why they discontinued them....a lot of guys seem to want them, including myself. we should start a petition for Hurst to bring it back!
