I was just lucky enough to get one of the zz383 crate motors and realy want to hurry up and put it in my 85 iroc but i am a little nervouse that the stock 700r may not like 400+ horse power any body out there have any words that may help me decide this is a good idea LOL?

Re: how much power

depends how aggresive u drive and what it is going to be used for? If u are not that agressive it should last u a while. Personally if it was for my car i would wait to get a built 700r4 with a shift kit and a nice stall converter to match the motor (around like 1600-2000?) It would compliment the motor very nice!

Or a built Turbo 350 for around $700. Should take whatever you can throw at it with that motor.

Re: how much power

yeah that works too but just personally if mostly a cruising car, the 700r4 has the overdrive for good mpg at highway! 350 trans may be cheaper but with the 700r it might be better in the long run.
