ford t5 fit in chevy
hey im buildin up my 91 and puttin a 350 in wit a lil extra power. n i no chevy t5s blow big time and i kno the ford t5s hold up alot better. does any1 no if the ford t5 would work. i kno theres gana be some modifying but llike what.
Re: ford t5 fit in chevy
Just to add to what Jamie said, the Ford T5's aren't any better/stronger than the GM ones anyway. The only reason they hold up longer in the Mustangs is it's a lighter car and the Ford 5.0's don't have as much torque as the Chev 305/350.

Re: ford t5 fit in chevy
Not to mention, the GM T5 does have a bigger input shaft, so that would make it stronger if everything else were beefier.

Re: ford t5 fit in chevy
Along with every thing else every one else said, the Ford t-5 has a different bellhousing to trans. bolt pattern so you cant bolt a chevy bellhousing to a ford trans. as well as the tailshaft is different. Their is nowhere for the torque arm and the shifter is to far forward.
