Problem clearance w/ TPIS roller rockers and stock valve covers

A while back i ordered a set of Comp alluminum roller rockers(1.5 for intake and exhaust)its going on a pair of 88' corvette alluminum heads and im using 3/8 studs. I have Summit centerbolt valve covers. Now i noticed when i was fitting it in there were some clearance problems, but im worried if i need to grind the roller rockers. If i only have to grind some parts of the valve covers thats no problem, im just worried about the rocker arms. The roller rockers are from TPIS there red and they sort of look like those gold ones. I know i should of gotten crane but too late need help with someone whos had this problem.

You can't use regular roller rockers with centerbolt valve covers!! They make special roller rockers made specifically to fit under centerbolt valve covers!! If you use perimeter bolt valve covers you have to get the tall valve covers because roller rockers won't fit under stock valve covers! The only roller rockers that will fit under a stock valve cover are the roller TIP rockers!!

4 Wheel Discs
9 bolt Borg Warner Rear (2.77's....oh joy) :P
Completely Stock
Soon to upgrade to a 355 converted from TPI to Carb, Edelbrock 750CFM Carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Hedman Shorty Headers, Stock casting pocket ported heads (2.02/1.60 - 65cc), XE268 Cam, Moroso HEI ignition kit with external MSD Blaster II Coil and an MSD 6-AL Box!!
Current project: Keeping my 305 running until I get my income tax returns!

maybe i wasnt clear, these comp alluminum roller rockers were made for TPI, TPIS said they just need a little grinding. Is there anyone else who has had this problem.

Grind your covers or get thicker gaskets.

TPIS grinds the drip tabs themselves on the motors they build.

Just a quick retort to 86...unless you're doing something funny, roller rockers will fit under perimeter VCs no problem. I had a set of harland sharp full roller 1.5s on my 85 w/ stock LG4 VCs and stock gaskets. And i'm not the only one that they've fit for.

I actually had to remove all of the support stems from the valve covers and they work just fine if you don't tighten them down too much. I definately wouldn't grind on the rockers!!!
