Adjust TV cable problems

I read the article in the tech page and pushed in the metal D pulled cable blah blah. I never heard any clicks when I flipped the throttle. Well anyways I didn't think it adjusted and drove off, first gear was way to hard even just putting it into OD it slammed. Winding through gears on normal driving and it didn't kick in to overdrive until 60ish. I played with it again today the same way and never heard any clicks. Now all gears are fine, sluggish as they where before. But now on the 1-2 shift it feels like its slipping because you get a high rev as it goes into 2nd gear. Any help as always is appreciated.

Also just to confirm since I might be wrong... The D shaped thing you push is the metal tang right?

Re: Adjust TV cable problems

You should make sure tv cable is unhooked from throttle linkage first. Then press in cable retainer ( D thing ) and push cable towards the rear of engine or tranny while depressing the retainer. Then hook the cable back up to linkage, try and pull on it only enough to hook it into linkage. Then get into car and press gas peddle all the way down to adjust your cable you should here the clicks when pressing gas peddle.

Re: Adjust TV cable problems

Ours was done using the-" Bowtie Overdrive TV made EZ" -source.
It's working great.

Motor is a '92 350, Carb// Holley non computer controlled.
