TH350 cable adjustment - drives better now?

the weirdest thing. I lost park on my car, just wouldnt engage anymore. but it shifted fine. but car would hesitate a little at times like i had timing off. but it wasnt consistant. I got under the car and adjusted my shift cable, un-threaded the fitting a little more so the cable would push the shift lever further forward.

worked like a charm, i now have park again. and now it doesnt hesitate anymore. It actually drives like never before, all kinds more throttle response and get-up and go. Was the shift cable being mis-adjusted messing that up? Like the tranny not being fully in each gear and that cause the hesitation? Just kinda coincidental.

I had a similar problem with my truck and adjusting the shifter made a big difference. I'm assuming with your shifter linkage misadjusted, it was in the wrong gear which may have lugged the motor...that's my guess. Glad you got it fixed. Mine still isn't 100% right.

That's exactly what I was thinking! i'm glad someone else had the same experience, kinda helps me confirm it. Good luck getting yours fully fixed. I love how simple these th350s are but i never would have thought the shifter cable could be so tetchy. good luck man.
