6spd conversion to my 89 formula, any words of wisdom?

i have an 89 formula with a 700r4, but my dad wants to drive it too and thinks itll be alot more fun to have it with a manual 6spd, which he plans on paying for later in the year. has anybody done it before or know anything like if the 6spds out of 4th gens bolt right up or not? even if you can link me to a thread on this topic, this is my first time really posting on here, im kinda new. thanks again!

Tons of info here and online.. Just take a little time to search the forum and read the Stickies at the top of the forum.. (T56 is the trans code for the factory 4thgen 6-speed)

Once you do your research, check back with any questions/clarifications you need.

remember it has to be from a car with the LT1 engine. LS1 T56 will not work (without ALOT of work)

And if you want a word of wisdom, if you do the swap make sure the shift fork is attached to the trans before you bolt it up to the bellhousing.... I studied the swap for years while I was gathering up the parts and the time to do the swap. After that I still managed to get the trans bolted up, shifter torque arm and driveshaft installed, AND filled it with fluid before I realized that I left the fork out it does NOT fit through the hole lol
