question about t5 trans removal

Whats the best way to take the shifter out? should i take the whole consoled out or is it best to try and unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the shifter on from under the car?

Re: question about t5 trans removal

take the whole console out and the the lower boot. those 4 bolts are cake after that.
or do what the lazy a$$ previous owner did and take the top shift plate off then cut the lower boot out with a knife to get to the bolts...yea i went and got a lower boot from a junk yard.
