1352-175 B9 Racing Tranny

Hello, we've located and bought all the goodies to swap the '84 T/A 700R4 over to a T5. The tranny we bought is tagged as a 1352-175 which translates into a "88 Fcar B9 Racing 5.0L V WC. What, if anything does the B9 Racing mean? Thanks,
for the help.

Re: 1352-175 B9 Racing Tranny

Anyone have info on the B9 racing trans?

I have yet to hear of a strong T-5 from the factory but i have this same trans in my car getting ready for a rebuild and would love some info on why its listed as "racing" and if it will require a special rebuild kit.

2.76 first / .73 fifth gears.
(V8 F-bodies would more commonly have 2.95 first / .62 fifth)

If that's what it really has for a gearset, that's good.

It will not need a special rebuild kit.

I think the only gearing differance is in the overdrive gear. First gear is still 2.95:1. Not sure if the unit is any stronger then any other WC t-5.

Best guess? The id chart you're going off of has at least one typo... B9 probably was supposed to be LB9. Where they're getting the "racing" from is anyone's guess, but it sounds like optimistic hogwash. It sounds like a typical Worldclass T5 to me.

2.76 is the reverse gear. The 175 is listed as a 2.95 first, .73 fifth.
