I have problem with my '98 merc sables tranny, I know its not third gen related but mabye someone can still help me. I was drivin it back from the BMV just getting my liscence and had to get on the highway so when I turned and got on the road I flored it and whipped it up to like 65 and it was fine when through the gears like normal , no problems. I had a red light coming up so I started to slow down and when the auto tranny was going from 2nd gear to first it never went into first like it wasnt there and I'm sitting in traffic like an idiot with a car thant wont drive, It finally switched and I was on my way again. Can anyone tell me what happened? I've never had a car do that before sooo....ya what should I do cause its my work car and I need it soon and would like it not to happen again.

 

But it's not thirdgen related....humm .
