size of differential

ok so will a 7.5 differential fit into a 7.65 housing..

The housings are the same. For all practical purposes there is no difference between the 7.5 and 7.625, except for the gears themselves.

ok well i have a 7.5 posi carrier i want to put in my rearend that had a 7.65 one legger.. on that 7.5 what can i run for gears?? like is there certain ones i cant fit in there? im just wanting to buy some jegs brand ring and pinion gears to get me buy

7.5 and 7.6 gears are the same except for 1/8 inch outside diameter. They will interchange with no problems. Just be sure that you get the right gears for the seried of differential that you have. If you have a 2 series tehn get the thick gears. If you have a 3 series then teh standard gears will work. There are also 26 and 28 spline axles, so be sure that your axles fit the differential.

ok well this carrier came out of a 91 camaro. and has 28 spline i think?? does that sound correct..

Yes, '91 should have 28 spline axles.

now heres the problem ha.. where in the heck can i find stock axles that are 28 spline... no one has any.. and i dont know how much i should pay for stock.. im to broke to buy brand new

A new set is about $180. The '90 to '92 Camaro and Firebird axles are 28 spline.
