wiring tcc lock up without opening pan.

I currently have a 91 z28 with 700r4. I will be eliminating the stock computer and will need to wire up the lockup. The kits i've seen have parts for the inside of the trans. Is there any kit that i can use that does'nt require opening the pan? Would'nt the trans already have the necessary stuff? It currently works now, so could i just wire up everything else outside the trans? I really would rather avoid dropping the pan.

You can, yes. How you do it depends on whether you have a NC or NO 4th gear switch.

Put a test light or measure the voltage across pins A and B with the connector plugged in, and the key in the on position with the engine stopped. If the light is on/+12v, it's an N.C. switch. If it's off, it's an N.O. switch.

Where is connector a & b? I'm sorry, i just want to be sure. Can you recommend which kit to go with if it's N.O. or N.C.? Thanks, you've been great in helping.
