3.27's to ?????
3.27's to ?????
Went from a stock tire size to a 285-35/18 in the rear. I want to change the gearing to get back some of the grunt that I lost and maby even gain a bit. Looking at a 3.73. Would a 4.10 be too much? Right now I cruise at 1300 rpm's at 60 MPH. It's just a 9 bolt but I would add a locker of somekind wile I was in there and get rid of the factory limited slip carrier. Thank's

With the 9-bolt rear your options are few. Gear ratios are 3:45, 3:70 amd a possible 3:73. Also forget about a locker, reason none are available. My opinion would be to leave everything alone or go the 12-bolt or Ford 9" route.

Or...swap in a 10 bolt that already has gears and a posi...
If you buy everything bolt in, you can get a 9" for about 1300 bucks, but have to upgrade to disc brakes, plus the cost of a locker+gear installation cost. $2000? For an almost stock car?
