Ford T5
Ford T5
Hi
I'm in the UK and have an 87 5 speed Z28 but the transmission is dead and not repairable. I can't find a replacement chevy one anywhere for a good price but have seen lots of ford ones. Is there an adapter or bell housing that will let me easly fit a ford T5?
And I know I will also need a 26 spline input shaft - does anybody know a good supplier for these in the UK or a good US one that will ship here?
Thanks in advance
Adam

Re: Ford T5
This has been covered many times on here. There's FAR too many problems with trying to retrofit a Ford T5 into a 3rd gen. It's not even worth attempting. Yeah, there's the different bolt pattern for the bellhousing, the different input shaft, different sized bearing retainer, different spline count on the output shaft, then there's the major problem of the shifter being in a different location on the trans. Admittedly it's harder to locate a GM T5, but trying to use a Ford T5 just isn't feasible unfortunately.
