Clutch not disengaging after T56 swap?
The title about says it all. I'm using a new Napa Flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch, and a new GM hydraulics assembly, 4th gen pedals, and a T56. The thing shifts great when the engine is off, but as soon as I fire up the engine, it won't shift out of neutral even with the clutch fully depressed. I get a nice firm pedal and full travel, but it's just not disengaging the clutch.
The only thing I can think of that would cause this would be the clutch fork. It didn't seem to "slide in" like it should when I put it in, I had to fight it a bit, and it still didn't look like it was lined up quite right. Would it be possible to not have the clutch fork on the throwout bearing and still get full pedal travel?
Am I missing something here with the clutch fork installation? I wouldn't think it should be this hard, but when the fork is in, you can't see up into the bellhousing in order to figure out whether or not it's actually on the throwout bearing. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to check whether or not it is actually installed correctly? I've got to figure this out on friday, and I'd really rather not take the trans back out again.
Thanks,
-Levi

You pull the fork away while installing the trans, then push it back so that it grabs the PP after installation. Did you do that. With the slave cylinder bracket off and a flash light you can see if it's grabbing the PP or not. Also BLEED THOSE HYDRAULICS!!! New or not, bleed you *** off! Super simple too. While the slave cylinder is hanging, simply pump the slave piston with your hand SLOWLY 3 or 4 times making sure the master isn't too full or too low on fluid. Hope this helps.

OH! Also one thing that I noticed during my install.........my clutch pedal was hitting the floor before it could travel fully and hit the pedals stop point. So make sure your pedal can travel fully too. Also, here's an awesome thread on how to make your master adjustable:

Thanks Rob,
I tried to do what you were describing with the clutch fork, but something tells me i didn't get it right. Maybe I just need to take it out and try again. I'll try bleeding the line too, that makes sense. After it got shipped around and everything, there's no telling where the air is at in that thing now. My pedals are not hitting the floor, they are definitely hitting the stop before the floorboard, so I can rule that out. The other stuff though might just be where my problem is at...
Thanks again,
