700R4 Rebuild Questions

Well I’m trying to do a ton of research to see if I can rebuild my 700R4, one question that stands out in my mind is that can i rebuild this thing, or is it crazy stupid hard to do that, this would be my first transmission rebuild ever, my dad has done a manual transmission rebuild before, but not an auto. i have a video that shows how to rebuild a 700r4 but it was recorded on to the computer from VHS and the quality of the video isn’t that great. And I found a 4l60e rebuild manual online but I don’t know if that’s gonna be close enough to the 700r4

my other question is what rebuild kit should I get I don’t want to spend a lot because this is just a temp fix for now because i will in the next few years get a 700r4 from monster. I saw a B&M tanskit they said its a transmission in a box (although I know it’s not really a transmission) for something in the 230 ballpark is that a good kit to get? its a carbed 305, stock right now but im gonna do a few mods since the engine is out like putting a edelbrock preformer rpm cam and lifter kit in (since its easier to put the cam in while the engines out) and when money is flush again the preformer rpm intake. just some fun stuff to make the car go weeee

Re: 700R4 Rebuild Questions

The 4L60E book is not close enough, you will need the right book. If you want to do this right, go to https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/home.php?cat=19 This will give you the choices you need. The DVD for the 700R4 comes with these kits at no cost. With B&M, your transmission will wind up in box.

Re: 700R4 Rebuild Questions

really i always thought B&M was a pretty good brand, well the rebuild kits there look like they come with a lot more than the one i saw at summit, which i presume is better
