about two years ago i had a shop install 3:70 gears in my 9 bolt. ever since then there has been a rattle. When you shake the car or push on the rear tires sideways you can hear a rattle/clunking sound?? The engine spun a rod bearing approximately 2 months after the install so i never got around to informing the shop. I am now getting a new engine and need to know what I should do about this??

 

Check the disc brake dust covers first, a tack weld may have broken resulting in a rattle.

 

no i mean i can hear internals moving.. more of a clunk than a rattle
