Thanks for reading my post I just aquired a 91 RS the car has 85K orginal miles. Everything on it is stock. I know little to nothing at all about cars but I have no money invested in this thing so I plan to learn as I go with this one. It runs fine, doesnt over heat runs smooth and has awesome power. The only issue is between 1st and 2nd gear. It will not shift unitl it hits about 30mph. I am not sure what the RPMs are cause tach is broke, plan to fix that too but thats another thread I guess. If I get on the gas and accelerate to 30+ it shifts smooth, but if I ease into it I jerks into gear. I have looked around and heard lots of differnet things that it could be. I checked the Trans Fluid, the guy I got it from said he had it flushed about 5 months or so ago. The fluid level is good and the color looks fine too. I worry that its a trans problem but dont want to go out and jump into it until I am sure. Thanks in advance for your help!

 

Well just to update anyone interested on this one, I tried a quick fix that was recommended to me by a buddy of mine and worked like a charm! Lucas transmission treatment, I picked up a bottle for $13 put it in and drove for about 15 min. It was still acting up when I parked it for the night. I got in this morining heading to work and it drives like a new car! So what are your thoughts on this? Am I masking a bigger problem? I plan to go ahead and have the Transmission flushed again, I am not confident that the previous owner had done it like he said. Thoughts? Also I know this is not the correct board to post this on but how do I go about fixing the RPM TACH?

 

Okay so false alarm on this one because she is back to acting up. Think my only option is to flush Trans and go from their. Any help?
