I had to cut my detent cable on the new motor. I need to break in the motor for 20min a 2k rpm(in park obviously), will it be ok with no detent cable to increase the line pressure? thanks

i dont think it will hurt, so long as the car is not moving, nor the wheels are moving.

The cable doesn't do anything for the engine. It's for the transmission.

That's what he's worried about. Without the detent cable functioning while he's breaking in the engine he's concerned about too much line pressure potentially causing harm to his transmission.
