T56 Clutch Question
Okay, I have read the swap up on top over and over and don't see exactly the info I need up there.
1. What are the length of the stock bolts? I have tried a 3/8x2" grade 8 but it doesn't seem long enough. Kinda worried about getting too long
2. I didn't go spectacular on my clutch, just went to NAPA and got an el-stocker type clutch. The problem is it seems like it is going to ride on the flywheel bolts. I used centerforce CTF-700100 flywheel
I think I have the wrong flywheel... AGAIN
The engine is a 2 piece RMS

Re: T56 Clutch Question
Okay, looks like I have 2 choices after talking to the Summit rep. Either way will cost me $400
Buy the correct 700107 flywheel and have it balanced
or buy this:

Re: T56 Clutch Question
You might want to read this. That flywheel that you bought and the one your looking at getting have a warning on them.

There are much cheaper bearings than that. I'm using a Ram bearing that only cost like $130. That still wouldnt fix your problem though. I'm also almost certain that you could not use your T5 clutch in the T56 bellhousing as there is not enough room to fit it.

The OEM LT1 and the Spec 2pc RMS (for LT1 T56) flywheels are different in that one has blind holes for the PP bolts and the other goes through. Not sure on Centreforce.

Then get the full depth measurement of that part.
When I bought an earlier design of that (to use w/ an LT1 T56 and T5 clutch / flywheel) it was way too thick. That was after Red told me it would work w/ the thirdgen parts / LT1 T56.
Then when I talked to him, he was suggesting a spacer or running a shallower, weaker V6 Chrysler pressure plate that had the same bolt pattern.

Re: T56 Clutch Question
Gonna see if the machine shop will help me out first. I would like to get the correct flywheel if I can first. Then if the machine shop doesn't help out, then I'll run the push button, thanks for the tip on the ram. Was not looking forward to another $400 to replace the slave. As for the warning, not really sure to do with that one. Will try to install that NAPA clutch, if it doesn't work I'll return it and get a performance one.
