new trans and crossmember dont line up.
Just installed a th400..
ordered a UMI th400 swap crossmember.
modified it for mounting my torque arm.
the three bolt holes on the trans mount does not align with the crossmember three holes.
it is all offset by one.
I drew a picture to help explain.
should I run a single bolt through the far hole so it threads into the center of the trans mount hole as factory uses?
I lined up my new umi crossmember with my old 700r4 spohn crossmember and all mounting holes line up so it cant be an error in the manufacturing..
any tips what i should do?

Re: new trans and crossmember dont line up.
I have just one bolt in my transmission mount, and it holds fine.
It seems like that crossmember may allow for more than just a th400 transmission to be used, therefore it may 'look' funny on the install, but still functions properly.
Just my opinion.

how hard is it to move the trans over to line the holes up? the engine and trans dont sit straight int he car, anyway. If its really tough moving the trans over, i would put a bolt in the center hole of the trans mount bushing and be done with it.

I try my best to get my tranny and engine straight. Anyway which bolt is not aligning? You should have 2 that bolts the support to the transmission and one that bolts the support to the crossmember. If the center one that bolts the support to the crossmember will go thru you are ok .

ok thanks guys, i will run a bolt through the far left hole of the crossmember that threads into the center of the trans mount.
Just glad to get confirmation
I tried moving the trans.. but it dont budge. the engine has 400mile old ES motor mounts so it aint moving!
