vibration at 2500 rpm

vibration at 2500 rpm

88 rs 2.8/5speed........

my motor runs fine,until about 2500 rpm in any gear. then theres a massive vibration ... i replaced the motor mounts and the tanny mount, but it still wants to shake like crazy at about 2500/2800pm..also the shifter will bounce up and down a little. top speed is about 60 mph .. any help will do.....

that would sound like your torque arm bushing, it will be locked in place with rivets, you will need a dremel or chisel... I believe you will have to remove the entire torque arm...

now if you get a klunk from a start, then you will need a tranny mount... make sure you get polyurethane...

i'm not 100% sure if that's the cause of my current vibrations but i'm at the point of kicking the PU energy suspension tranny mount down the next ditch and getting a new rubber mount.. could be some other issue though so take this with a grain of salt.
