700r4 shift problems
ok. this is actually a question about my 88 chevy pickup, BUT it does have a 700r4 like my 3rd gen. so I thought I'd ask it here.
Ok, so before the problem started the pickup ran fine. except for a vaccuum line wasn't connected. so i reconnected it, and voila i had torque. so my tranny started shifting just a tad harder and staying in gear just a tad longer. no big deal. well then the kick down cable snapped and the transmission started to not shift out of 1st until 20mph and when it does it lurches the vehicle forward. the guys at advance said that it's adjustable, my question is how to adjust it.
I replaced the broken kickdown cable today, and the same problem is still there.
