What is this noise?

What is this noise?
We have a 92 RS that has developed a strange noise. The other day we determined the noise was originating from the middle of the car. Today we took a look at the driveshaft & u-joints. Didn't see anything in contact with them. We put the car in nuetral to spin the driveshaft by hand. When you spin it, it makes a strange noise. The sound is coming from the transmission area, near where the yoke inserts into the transmission. It is weird because when I turn the driveshaft counter-clockwise, it makes the noise. When you turn the driveshaft clockwise, the noise is not present. Either way, I don't think it is supposed to be making this noise. I uploaded a video so you can hear it. Any ideas on what is wrong here? Also is the yoke supposed to be missing a tooth?

Its 'missing' a spline because on the output shaft there is one giant spline that fits in there, so that it only fits on one way. Thats normal.
