Car: 84 Trans Am
Engine: 383 Stroker
Transmission: Th350
rear gears

I am diffenitly looking into getting some rear gears. I have a 84 TA with stock rear what ever that may be. Do I a get a new set of 3.73 posi. Or can I use the rear from a GTA witch I was reading some of them have 3.73's in them not sure if they are posi thou. Keep in mind i'm on a budget right now and just tring to get the motor and trans rebuilt.

The cheapest thing to do is get a rear end that is already built. If you don't know how to set the pinion depth, bearing preload and backlash then you will have to pay someone to do it. The parts are going to cost about $600 or more, and you can get a complete rear end for $200 to $400.
