What a bunch of crap! Doesn't sound like they need your business! Try this web site, I've had some good luck with these guys! They are a sponsor on this website.
www.OEHQ.com or www.onlyfactoryparts.com OEHQ is a sponsor here.

I went in and asked for a new one and the dealer got one delivered within 2 days, they said it would have been there the next day but they had to order it from a GM vintage warehouse, still, I got it for $24 with tax. They installed it for like $20 or something because I wasn't gonna mess with that stuff, haha.

I don't know if its actually called that thats just what they told me it was a Vintage parts warehouse or something, but yeah the dealer I go to is pretty reasonable. I only take my car to a dealer, I don't trust garages and shade tree mechanics anymore, too many bad experiences.....

I had a friend that would work on my vehicles with the stuff I didn't have tools for or time. He has his own shop he took over when his Dad retired. He has a lot of "personal" problems and I can't trust him any more. My neighbor who is a mechanic for Mustang Caterpillar with a service truck, told me about a guy in town that did the work he didn't want to do. I've used him twice, super nice guy, returns phone calls and always quotes higher than you pay when it's fixed! Yeah! I told him I'm putting you on speed dial!

Don't get me wrong, they all aren't bad guys, its just some of them think that well this kids coming to me because he has no idea what this thing is or what it does or anything, he just knows he needs it replaced, so they cut corners and take short cuts and do a bad job just to get paid. Well I do know what things are for, and most of the time, I'm just too afraid to open anything up big by myself with no prior knowledge to it, and heres the thing, I take note of how my car acts every single time I drive it. I think thats why I drive it so much, and its that much more fun to take it on a joy ride because I get feedback from the car and like to think about things to improve it.

Thats why I spent so much time on my TV cable, because I wanted it to work the way that it was supposed to, and the way that I wanted it to, and give it a good feel and response, and well I think I got it down pretty damn good.

The only thing though is that I need to get new U-joints, mine are bad and theyre slapping the back of the transmission, not good.

Damn 21 year old original parts!

Thanks, hey does the speedometer have something to do with the tranny because it's not reading right now, and if you could bring your car over here to California I could get you a paint job just pay for materials.

Haha well the only way that something like that could go wrong is if you mechanical gear driven speedo got messed up on the transmission, or at least thats what the most probable thing would be.

And man thats an awesome offer, but for me to drive from PA to CA would be just as much if not more than the materials haha.

Every body gets the same treatment when your that age. Just ignore them. I was forty before I got any respect! Might have been because my mustach turned white! Ha!
