Car: 1992 Firebird
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4 with B&M shift kit
Axle/Gears: 3.23 zexel 4th gen
700r4 won't shift into 4th
I recently removed my 700r4 because it wouldn't shift out of first gear after I got it stuck in the snow. After I took it out, I realized the governor gear was shot, so I replaced the gear it and put the trans back in. Now it won't shift into fourth gear. Do I definitely have bad internal components or could it be something more simple like a TCC solenoid or something? Thanks.

Bump. Any ideas? Could it just be gummed up and needs to be flushed? If the cover over my governor has a dent it, could that mess up the flow of fluid?
