either a tk0 600, t56, richmond,stock t5 need to make find the best setup

Car: 1989 pontiac firebird formula 350
Engine: 350 stock but not for long
Transmission: 700r4 but swap to manual
either a tk0 600, t56, richmond,stock t5 need to make find the best setup

i got a stock 350 formula with a blown 700r4 want a manual and have a wct5 parts car but am going to build the motor so wanted a good trans. need some good info and advice

Axle/Gears: 2.73 one wheel drive

i think a t-56 is what ur looking for, or u can beef up the t5 but getting a t-56 is just way better.

i did see that the t56 was heavy compared to the tko 600 but i want to find out how the tko shifts, smoth or rough.the t56 hast to be out of a lt1 right to fit the l98 block.

The ls1 cars used the same tranny if im not mistaken , the back part of the motor is the same between LS engines and our old smallblock design. Correct me if im wrong im no expert.

But rly , if u want a nice manual tranny, get a t56 . If u can get one from an lt1 then go ahead , like i said im no expert so i dont know if ls1 t56s had same bellhousing bolt pattern.

Ls1 is different, lt1 is direct fit.


T-56 is a good trans. If you want it built get a viper spec one.
