Aye aye aye...new throwout bearing/new clutch kit time?

Well, it seems like once some nice weather arrives, I run into a new problem w/the 'bird, . But hey, that's the nature of projects until we can get around to the swaps and such we want, right?

Anyways, after a fuel filter change today, I took it for a quick spin around the block just to see if it helped the motor run smoother than it did before. Before I could really get a chance to evaluate, out of nowhere, the clutch pedal palls to the floor when I'm in 2nd gear and it dies on me. Luckily I was right in front of my house when it happened so I was able to get it pushed out of the way easily (With a bit of force, I was able to move the shifter into neutral).

I just had my master and slave cylinders recently replaced, so I wouldn't think it's the hydraulic system at fault. I have a feeling it's more clutch-linkage related, but I'm here to ask some more informed people what it would be. Unfortunately, this car is pretty much stuck without getting towed unless I can figure it out. All help appreciated!

P.S: Ever since I've had the car, the clutch pedal often did make a squeaking sound when being pressed. Also, I didn't think much of it, but on my test drive, I felt what felt like a slight "pop", and small drop in the clutch pedal before it finally went out on me.

i would bet a 6 pack that you blew a slave cylinder . pour some brake fluid in clutch res. and see where it leaks from . i have heard of people trying to use ATF fluid in clutch system . not a good thing . good luck with your fix .

Doesn't a bad slave cylinder make it hard to change gears though? It seemed a bit tricky moving the shifter at first, but now I can freely move it into any gear atm. It's like the clutch pedal is permanently on the floor. I can try to pull it back up, but it just falls back down. Oddly enough, I must still press it all the way to the floor to start the engine. It felt much like whatever was holding the clutch pedal up like it's supposed to be, much have snapped/broke/disconnected itself.

refer to post # 2 , ck. for leaks . how much fluid do you have in res. ? yes car will not start unless pedal is on the floor . that's a safety feature so people will not start cars with gears engaged . return to shop that did the work . good luck .
