T. V hell 700r4 Please help

I need some direction here, Im at my witts end. My problem is that I have adjusted the T V cable correctly and it still does not shift correctly.
At WOT it shifts out of 1st at 20 mph, 2nd at roughly 3200 rpm , and 3rd gear soon after that, also when I mash the throttle in secong gear it barely grabs 1st gear kickdown for only a second then upshifts. Even with the cruise set it upshifts and downshifts hunting around? The tranny was rebuilt 500 miles ago, the problem was that was 6 years ago. This car has sat a very long time with no driving.
Heres what im working with.
92z 305 tpi 700r4, Vette servo and shift improver kit, b m megashifter, 3.73 gears.
Everything shifts great when i use it as a manual shift, 1-2 gear barks the tires and every gear after shifts firm and fast.
Please god help me.

Your cable is TOO loose. Don't continue driving it like that or it will hurt the transmission.

Do you have any pictures of your setup? The TV cable should be tight as possible at WOT. IF it won't shift at WOT then back it down slightlyntil it shifts at the right spot. This increases pressure in the transmission and takes out the slipping during the shifts and helps with longevity. If it is tight at the carb/intake I am going to go out on a limb and say that it is not connected/broke at the transmission. Check to make sure it's hooked in there.

My cable is hooked at at the trans,The car does drop gears when I mash it. Im going to take the cable out tonight and check if its streched.
The rebuilder may have the tv valve out of wack, the pan is coming off if that cable is good.

first you need full understanding of how tv line pressure is the most important item in these transmissions (if you want to keep 3rd and 4th gear
if there is no change in geometry @ the throttle body a "setting" of the cable is all you need
i personally would confirm that with the trans pan off, looking directly at the t.v.

DC - I used this three part article to do mine. Read and re-read it about 100 times before it started to click. Looking at the throttle valve and plunger with the pan off will help understand the lessons.

As squezzer said - adjust the TV plunger depth by looking at the starting position and ending position while someone else is manning the TV cable at the linkage by the carb/TBI.

After doing this, you should also check your trans pressures. There are instructions on that website as to how to do this as well.

I did these methods and came out ok.

Be sure to check that your linkage (that the TV connects to) is not bent or damaged. It should move freely. I've seen cases where it was bent and rendered the TV inop....the TV still moves, but generates slack in the pan.

Re: T. V hell 700r4 Please help

Ok here is where Im at. After removing the trans pan ( And breaking a bolt and snapping the EZ out in said bolt) I found the Tv connecting rod was a little banana shaped and when in the relaxed pedal position on the tv valve , the lever and the bushing were not even touching. So I am going to purchase a GM tv cable and straighten out the rod, and try to get that bolt out. I will post my results later. Also taking a quad gauge home to check the rise in pressure after its together.
Thanks for the guidance all.
