Re: losing axle fluid?
My cover bolts keep loosening up very slowly. I keep tightening them up, but like 2 or 3 times a year, I have to tighten them back up.
I know I should pull it off, clean the threads, dab some Loc-Tite on the bolts, but I just never have. I do add fluid through the rubber plug though, so I'm in no danger of it going dry.

Re: losing axle fluid?
If its the pinion seal, its easy enough to change, just have to make sure the pinion nut is installed back to the exact place it was before so you dont affect the pinion bearing preloads.
Its probably the cover

Re: losing axle fluid?
any obvious wet areas shoud be an indication . if the area is just too greasy/oil soaked , clean it . you may be lucky enough to find a carwash that sprays the under side of car in your area . if you can't do any of the above , blow flour , baby powder , talc , etc. around suspect areas . drive around and area should show up . good luck .

You should be able to purchase a gasket at any of the auto supply stores.
