Rebuilt 700R4, '89 to '93?
Rebuilt 700R4, '89 to '93?
Hello all,
Here's the long story...I bought a '93 B4C police package Camaro at an auction. The original 700R4 that's in there is junk. I bought a rebuilt '89 700R4 for $350. Shame on me for not doing the research first, but oh well. The problem I'm running into now is the connector from the rebuilt tranny is a four pin, the Camaro needs a five pin. Can I fix this, and how?
Also, I did a little research, and I read that the valve body, spacer plate, lock up wiring, and reverse input housing are specific to the '93 model year. Any truth to this? Is it worth trying to make the '89 work or should I just buy another rebuilt '93 and sell the other one?
Thanks for any input.
Ken

Are you talking about the lockup connector? Can you send some pics? As far as I know, 93 still uses a TV cable so it will work. You may have to rewire the TCC to function correctly.
