Is this correct ? TH350 swap
Hi all,
When I bought my camaro, I think it had the wrong trans X-member.
Does this look correct ?
It is a V6 car, came with a 700R4, but now swapped to a 3 spd TH350.

Do I need both of those X-member pieces (how I bought the car) or just bolt the one square poly mount right to the X-member and ditch the little intermidiate braket there that has the 2 outter poly bushings ?
I'm confused.
Help ?!
thanks.

Some cars were equipped with a secondary cross member, which is what you have. For a TH350, check the following link:

A search will provide more, such as the info in the link below:

There are 3 versions of crossmembers for these cars: one that's basically a flat piece that the main mount bolts right to; the one you have; and the one that came in some of the later 6-cyl cars that need all the vibration-damping help they can get, that have this oddball round "hydraulic" mount.
What you have there looks fine, except that the piece for the torque arm doesn't look like a stock torque arm would bolt to it although I could be wrong (I'd have to see it from the other side). That's not how I would go about putting a 350 in one of these cars though; the TA still puts all its force on the mounts, trying to tear them apart. An aftermarket Xmember and TA that mounts the TA directly to the Xmber make A WHOLE LOT more sense. If you don't like what you've got there, I'd suggest ditching the whole thing and getting something like that. See here http://www.spohn.net/shop/1982-1992-...d-Torque-Arms/ for a good example.
